Verdiq helps parents understand packaged-food ingredients. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it minimal — we only collect what the app needs to work.
Verdiq ("we", "us") is published by vamaha.tech, India. For any privacy question or request, contact us at verdiq@vamaha.tech.
| Data | What and why |
|---|---|
| Account | Your email address and password (stored securely) so you can sign in. |
| Child profile | A name you choose and an age band (under 2, or 2–5). The age band decides which safety rules apply. We do not ask for your child's date of birth. |
| Scans | The barcodes you scan and the ingredient text read from labels, so we can return a verdict and cache it for other parents. |
| Label photos | When a product isn't on record, the label photos you take are uploaded to our secure cloud storage so our team can verify the product. Photos are used only to build the product record. |
We use this data to produce age-specific verdicts, improve accuracy, and build a shared product database. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Ingredient text is processed by an AI service (Anthropic Claude) to extract facts only. The AI does not decide the final verdict — deterministic rules do. Verdicts are always explainable and cited.
We share data only with the infrastructure providers that run the app, and only so far as they need it to provide their service:
We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell it.
Verdiq is a tool for parents and caregivers, not for children. The only information relating to a child is a name you choose and an age band — never a date of birth, photo or contact detail. Verdiq is not directed to children and is meant for adults aged 18 and over.
We keep your account and child-profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, that data is permanently removed. Product records and cached verdicts you contributed remain in the shared catalogue for other parents, but are no longer linked to you.
Passwords are stored using industry-standard hashing, data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and label photos are held in access-controlled cloud storage. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
You can stop using the app at any time. You can delete your account and your children's profiles yourself in Settings — this is permanent. Products you added stay in the catalogue for other parents, no longer linked to you. You can also contact us for any access or deletion request. See how to delete your account.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us for a summary of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw your consent by deleting your account, and raise a grievance. Email verdiq@vamaha.tech and we will reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated policy.
This policy is governed by the laws of India. We handle personal data in line with India's applicable data-protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
