v1.7 — Freedom Date, flat rate support, 7 UX improvements
Our biggest release. The hero card got a Freedom Date. Flat rate loans finally work correctly across all three tabs. Seven UX improvements from user requests.
v1.7 was shaped almost entirely by user feedback. Here's what changed and why.
Freedom Date
Dozens of users asked: "When will I finish paying this loan?" The EMI and total interest are useful, but the date is the thing that makes it real. We added "Free by Jun 2044" to the hero card in gold. With prepayments active, it adjusts in real time. Every share now includes the debt-free date automatically — users forwarding their calculation to family are also forwarding a brand message.
Flat rate loans — finally correct
Car and personal loans in India are often quoted at "flat rates" — but most calculators silently treat them as reducing balance. That's wrong by up to 9 percentage points of APR. v1.7 adds a flat/reducing toggle and shows the effective APR so users can make a fair comparison before signing.
7 UX improvements
Month 1 shock callout (87% of your first EMI is interest), milestone banners on the schedule, PDF preview before export, affordability signal, prepay nudge, share button, and the first-open tip in Insights. Each one came from a support message or a review.
