Why we built EMI Planner
It started with a home loan meeting where we had no idea what was happening. We left that meeting and built the calculator we wished we had.
I was sitting across from a bank relationship manager, trying to understand my home loan offer. He was showing me a spreadsheet. I was nodding.
I had no idea what was happening.
I knew the EMI number. I didn't know how much of it was going to the bank vs reducing my loan. I didn't know that in the first year, nearly 90% goes to interest. I didn't know that one prepayment of ₹2 lakhs at the right time could save me more than ₹8 lakhs over the tenure. The bank certainly wasn't going to tell me.
I left that meeting, opened my laptop, and started building. That weekend became EMI Planner.
What we wanted
A calculator that shows you the full picture — not just the EMI, but when you'll own your home, what the bank earns, and what you can do about it. Clean, offline, no ads, and honest about the math.
That's what EMI Planner is. And that's what everything we build at Vamaha tries to be.
